Project Escape Room Zoo Walkthrough Guide (Roblox)

If you’re stuck in the Zoo map inside Project: Escape Room, don’t worry, because this Project Escape Room Zoo walkthrough takes you from the monkey exhibit key all the way to the bus ride out. The Zoo is one of the easier maps in the game, but it’s very easy to miss a step or two.

Maybe you’ve tried the rock puzzle a few times and the notice never showed up, or you’ve collected some bills and the bus still won’t let you on. That’s completely normal, because in most cases it just means one small step got missed along the way. The good news is that this guide will help you find it quickly, and then you can finish the map without any more guessing.

We’ve played through this map and solved every puzzle ourselves, which is why we can tell you what you should see after each step. This guide covers them in order, from the color squares on the rock to the five bills for the bus, and we’ll play the map again to update this page whenever the game changes.

Quick Answers

  • Rock Visitors: Stand in front of the rock fence, read the outfit colors of the four visitors from left to right, and then match the squares in that same order.
  • Bridge Animal Order: Use the clues on the employee notice to press the six animal buttons in the order frog, monkey, lion, snake, parrot, and elephant.
  • Aquarium: Match each description poster to the animal it describes, and the gift shop door opens on its own.
  • Cash Machine Code: Type 51.50 into the cash machine to get the gift shop key.
  • Bus Requirement: You need five $5 bills to board the bus.

How Do You Beat the Zoo Map in Project: Escape Room?

The Zoo map has four puzzles, and each one opens the way to the next, so playing them in order saves the most time. First, the rock and the animal buttons give you the monkey exhibit key. After that, matching the aquarium labels opens the gift shop, where 51.50 unlocks the cash machine, and five $5 bills pay for the bus out.

Our advice is to take the puzzles one at a time, because rushing is the easiest way to skip a step. The bill hunt will probably take the longest, since the bills are spread around the outside area, but it feels simple once you know the five spots.

What Should You Check Before You Start the Zoo Map?

Before you step into the elevator, we’d check the lobby sign first, because Project: Escape Room has a Beginner mode and a Challenge mode. Beginner keeps the puzzles simple, but Challenge adds tighter timers, more clues, and extra steps, so we’d pick Beginner for your first run.

The mode matters because the answers can change between the two. On the Office map, for example, the Beginner codes don’t work in Challenge mode, and the Challenge codes don’t work in Beginner. That’s why we’d check the lobby sign first if an answer gets rejected on the Zoo map, and then read the clue in front of you again.

Also, you don’t need a redeem code for anything on this map. Numbers like 51.50 are puzzle answers you type inside the game, and the game from Serif Games has no official promo codes.

How Do You Get the Monkey Exhibit Key?

The monkey exhibit key comes from two puzzles in a row, which are the color squares on the rock and the animal buttons across the rope bridge. It might look tricky at first, but it gets much easier once you follow these steps in order:

1. Start by walking up to the large rock with four white squares, where you’ll see four visitors in different colored outfits standing outside the fence.

2. Next, stand in front of the rock fence and read the visitors’ outfit colors from left to right. Then click the squares to match those colors in the same order, so you don’t enter them backwards.

3. When the order is right, the rock shifts and shows an employee notice with clues about the animal feeding order, such as “the frogs are fed first” and “the elephants are fed last.” Put those clues together, and the order comes out as frog, monkey, lion, snake, parrot, elephant.

4. After that, find the tree with wooden panels that look like stairs, climb it, and cross the rope bridge to the other side.

5. Once you’re across, you’ll find six buttons with the same animals on them. Press them in that same feeding order, and a small hidden drawer opens with the monkey exhibit key inside.

6. Finally, climb back down and unlock the door labeled zoo staff only, which takes you into the aquarium.

TIP: If you can’t find the employee notice anywhere, the rock puzzle probably isn’t finished yet. That notice only appears once the squares are right, which means you should go back and solve the color squares first.

How Do You Fix the Mismatched Aquarium Labels?

The aquarium puzzle looks confusing at first, but it gets much easier once you know that the labels are wrong on purpose. Here’s how we’d solve it:

  1. When you walk in, you’ll notice that the names and descriptions don’t match, and a frog display might even carry the name and description of a rattlesnake. On top of that, the animal names are shuffled too.
  2. Next, read each description poster and think about which animal it describes, because the description is your clue to where it belongs.
  3. Then move the nameplates until every display matches its description.
  4. Once the last one is in place, the gift shop door opens on its own, and you won’t need to press any button. If the door stays shut, one of your matches is probably still wrong, so it’s worth checking them again.

What Is the Gift Shop Total for the Cash Machine?

The cash machine needs the total price of the gifts, and that total is 51.50. If you’d like to check the math yourself, here are the steps:

  1. Go into the gift shop and look at the gifts on the counter, which include a monkey plush, some shirts, and a few other items.
  2. Next, read the plushie and hat prices on the shelves, and then check the wall poster for the shirt prices.
  3. After that, add everything together. Each gift has its own price tag, and the total comes to 51.50.
  4. Then type 51.50 into the cash machine, and it opens to give you the gift shop key.
  5. Finally, use that key on the glass door to leave the shop, and head outside to start collecting the bus bills.

Where Do You Find the $5 Bills for the Bus?

You need five $5 bills to board the bus, and they’re spread around the area outside the gift shop. Some places describe the fare as four bills, but the map has five, so we’d collect all five to be safe. Here are all five spots:

  1. Cookie Shop Customer: First, pick up a cookie at the cookie shop and bring it to the man outside who wants one, and he’ll pay you with a bill for the favor.
  2. Crane Claw Office: Next, climb the crane up to the claw area and take the key you find there. That key opens the small office near the toll gate, and the bill is lying on the table inside.
  3. Hole Next to the Large Stone: Then check the hole the crane dug in the ground beside the large stone, because a bill is sitting inside it. If you can’t spot it right away, look down near the exhibits.
  4. Toll Gate Trash Can: After that, check the trash can near the toll gate to find another bill. You’ll already be close by after the crane office, which makes it an easy one to grab.
  5. Bus Seat: Finally, look on the seats inside the bus to find the last bill. Once you have all five, you’re ready to board and finish the map.

Why Isn’t Your Zoo Answer Working?

Most Zoo answers fail for one of three reasons, which are a step done out of order, a missed bill, or a game update. Luckily, each one is quick to fix.

Check the Order of the Puzzles

Every puzzle unlocks the next one, which means a missing notice or a locked door nearly always points to an earlier step that isn’t finished. Before you try an answer again, go back one puzzle and look for anything you skipped.

Recount Your Bills

If the bus won’t take you, count the bills you’re carrying before you walk back. The ones in the trash can and on the bus seat are easy to miss, and being one short is enough to keep you off the bus.

Check for Game Updates

The Office map launch on August 10, 2026 is the latest update we know of, and no new maps have been announced since, which is why these Zoo steps should still work. Just keep in mind that puzzle answers can change after a patch, so if this guide ever disagrees with what you see in the game, trust the clue in front of you.

Which Map Should You Play After the Zoo?

After you finish this Zoo walkthrough, we’d play Prison next and then try Office on Beginner, Pirate Ship, and Spaceship. That order gives you more practice before the harder maps.

We’d save Bank, Lab, Pyramid, and Temple for last, because Temple and Lab stay very difficult even for experienced players. You’ll also enjoy them more once the easier maps are behind you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Zoo map hard in Project: Escape Room?

No, the Zoo is one of the easier maps, and its puzzles are mostly color buttons and gift shop math. It’s also shorter than most maps, which is why we’d call it a great early pick.

Can you finish the Zoo map alone?

Yes, you can complete every Zoo puzzle with one avatar, and the map works well for solo play. If you’d rather team up, the game also allows groups of up to five.

Does the Zoo map work on mobile?

Yes, the game runs on mobile, though you’ll need to tap carefully on small objects. That matters most for the rock squares and the animal buttons, so we’d take our time there.

Is Project: Escape Room the same as the classic Escape Room game?

No, Project: Escape Room is made by Serif Games, and the classic Escape Room by DevUltra is a separate game. Searching for the Zoo can also lead to Escape The ZOO, which is a different Roblox experience, so check that you’re in the right one before you start.
