Wild Rift Defense Item Guide with Stats Explained

Defense items are generally used to increase the health and armor of the champion. If you are playing against assassin then buying the defense item can be helpful as they will reduce the damage taken by you.

Wild Rift top tier defense item:

1. Guardian Angel

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+45 Attack Damage

+40 Armor

Effective:

Resurrect: Upon taking lethal damage from the enemy it will regenerate 50% base health and 30% mana after 4 seconds of stasis. (Cooldown: 180S).

2. Sunfire Cape

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+40 armor

+400 Max health

Effective:

Immolate: Deals 25-40 magic per seconds to nearby enemies. Deals 50% bonus damage to minions and monsters.

3. Spirit Visage

Cost: 2900

Stats:

+350 Max health

+45 Magic resistance

+100% health regen

+10% Cooldown reduction

Effects:

Blessed: Increase all healing, regen and drain effects on your self by 30%.

4. Randuin’s Omen

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+50 armor

+400 Max health

Effective:

Armored: Reduces damage from critical strikes by 15%.

Cold Steel: Reduces the attack speed by 15% from 1.5 seconds when struck by an attack.

5. Thornmail

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+75 armor

+200 Max health

Effective:

Thorns: Upon hit by an enemy basic attack, reflects 25(+10% bonus armor) magic damage, while also inflicting a grievous wound on the enemy champion for 1 second.

6. Frozen Mallet

Cost: 3000

Stats:

+25 attack damage

+550 max health

Effective:

Icy: Attack slows the enemy by 40% for 1.5s seconds. Slow amount halved for ranged attacks.

7. Warmog’s armor

Cost: 2850

Stats:

+650 Max health

+200% Health Regen

+10% Cooldown reduction

Effective:

Warmog’s Heart: If you have at least 2500 maximum health, regenerates 5% maximum health per seconds if you haven’t taken damage with the last 6 seconds.

8. Streak’s Gage

Cost: 3000

Stats:

+400 max health

Effective:

Heavy-Handed: +50% base attack damage(only applied to the melee champions).

Lifeline: If you take damage that reduces your health below 35% will give you a shield that will absorb 75% of your bonus health that decays over 3 seconds (Cooldown: 90s).

Streak’s Fury: Trigerring Lifeline increases size and grants 30% tenacity for 3 seconds.

Can only be purchased for a melee champion.

9. Iceborn Gauntlet

Cost: 2700

Stats:

+50 Armor

+450 Max Mana

+20% Cooldown Reduction

Effects:

After using the abilities your next basic attack will deal 100% bonus attack damage. It also deals 100% bonus attack damage to enemy surrounding the target and creates an icy zone for 2 seconds. Enemies inside the icy zone are slowed by 30% for 2 seconds.

The Zone has a radius of 180 (+55% bonus armor) units (Cooldown: 1.5s).

10. Dead Man’s Plate

Cost: 2900

Stats:

+50 Armor

+300 Max Health

Effects:

Momentum: Moving builds momentum and grants a max 50 movement speed at 100 stacks. Attacks expend all momentum to deal bonus magic damage equal to the number of stacks. Momentum decays when movement is impaired.

Crushing Blow: Melee attacks that expend the momentum also slows the enemies by 50% for 1 second.

11. Adaptive helm

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+300 Max health

+100% Health Regen

+60 magic resistance

Effects:

Adaptive: Taking Magic damage reduces all subsequent damage taken by that same ability by 15% for 4 seconds.

If you receive damage from the multiple sources this effect can be applied to every source and duration for each resource is tracked separately.

12. Abyssal Mask

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+300 Max health

+40 Magic Resistance

+300 Max mana

+10% cooldown reduction

Effects:

Eternity: Restores mana equal to 15% damage taken from the monsters. Regens health equal to 20% of the mana spent. Capped at 25 health per cast.

Abyssal: Nearby enemies champions take 15% bonus magic damage(325 range).

13. Zeke’s convergence

Cost: 2800

Stats:

+40 armor

+40 Magic resistance

+150 Max mana

+10% Cooldown reduction

Harbinger: Casting your ultimate ability will surround you with a blizzard and ignites the nearby ally attack for 10 seconds. Your blizzard slows enemies by 20% and your ally’s attack burn them for 30% bonus magic damage for 2 seconds. Prioritizes highest attack damage ally for the effect.

Frostfire Covenant: if an enemy is struck by both frost and fire then your forst storm ignites and becomes forstfire and deals 40 magic damage to nearby enemies and slow them by 40% for 3 seconds.

14. Protector’s vow

Cost: 2700

Stats:

+350 Max health

+40 armor

+10% cooldown reduction

Effect:

Protector: Raises your guard when you are near to an ally champion. If you or your ally champion receives damage from monsters, turret or enemy champion then both of you receive a 125(+20% bonus health)(+15% AP) shield and 20% movement speed for 1.5 seconds(Cooldown: 30 seconds).

15. Winter’s Approach

Cost: 2600

Stats:

+40 armor

+450 Max mana

+10% Cooldown Reduction

Awe: Grants Bonus armor equal to 1% of maximum mana. Refunds 15% of mana spent.

Mana charge: Grants a charge every 4 seconds, up to 3 charges. Each basic attack hit or mana expenditure consumes a charge and grants +8 mana, up to a maximum of 700 mana.

Limited to 1 Awe item.

16. Fimbulwinter

Cost: 2600

Stats: 

+40 Armor

+10% Cooldown Reduction

+1150 Mana

Effects: 

Awe: Grants bonus armor equal to 3% maximum mana. Refunds 15% of mana spent. 

Frozen Colossus: immobilizing an enemy champion consumes mana and grants a shield for 3 second that absorbs 150(+5% current mana) damage for every nearby enemy champion(cooldown: 10 seconds). This effect is only gets activated when you have at least 20% mana.

Effects: 

Immolate: Deals 25-40 Magic damage per second to nearby enemies. Deals 50% bonus damage to minions and monsters.

Stats: 

+175 Max health 

+20 Magic resistance 

Effects: 

Spectral visit: Grants 150% Health regen for 10 seconds after taking damage from an enemy champion. 

3. Kindlegem

Stats:

+10% cooldown reduction

4. Gaint’s belt

Cost: 1000

Stats: 

+300 Max health

5. Warden’s mail 

Cost: 1050 

Stats: 

+35 Armor

Effects: 

Cold Steel: Reduces all attack speed of the enemy champion by 15% for 1.5 seconds when struck by an attack.

6. Catalyst of Aeons

Cost:1100

Stats: 

+200 Max health 

+300 Max Mana

Effects: 

Eternity: Restore mana equal to 15% of the damage taken from an enemy champion. Regens the health equal to 20% of mana spent. Capped at 15 health per cast.

7. Chain Vest

Cost: 900

Stats: 

+40 Armor

No special effect

8. Bramble vest

Cost: 1000

Stats: 

+30 Armor

Effects:

Throns: Begin hit by an attack for 3 magic damage +10% bonus damage and inflicts them with grievous wounds for 1 second.

9. Jaurim’s Fist

Cost: 1200

Stats: 

+200 Max health 

+15 attack damage

No special effect

10. Negatron Cloak

Cost: 900

Stats: 

+40 Magic resistance

No special effect

11. Glacial Shroud

Cost: 1000

Stats:

Defense items help to create more health and armor for your champion. So if your playing against the champion that deals more physical damage then building items that increase the armor will help and if you are playing against the champion that deals lots of magic damage then building the item that provides the magic resists will help a lot. 

There are many health modifiers like: 

1. Armor

Armor negates the damage dealt by Attack damage based champions. Building item that provides armor can be very useful when you are playing against marksman or the champion that deals to much attack damage. 

2. Magic resists

Magic Resists negates the damage dealt by Ability power-based champions. Building item that provides magic resist can be very useful when you are playing against mage champion that has too much magical damage. 

3. Health Regen 

Health Regen simply refers to the rate at which you recovers your health over time when your hp bar below 100%. 

4. Tenacity

Tenacity reduces the effect of disabling skills such as stun, slow, blind, root, taunt and charm.
